In our first of a series celebrating our 2018 award winners, the VIKINGS!

With a time of 1:04 the Canton Vikings blew the competition away as the fastest crazy craft.

Congrats Vikings! Can’t wait to see you next year.

The Float your Fanny team would like to thank everyone who participated in Saturday’s event. The spectators, the amazing volunteers, the sponsors and the brave, on-the-river paddlers. It was a really great day and the smiles and positivity are so appreciated.

We’re already discussing 2019. We can’t wait to see you back at the Ganaraska river for another edition of this Port Hope tradition.

So your gonna wait to clean? It’s going to flow down stream into the lake by the time you get to it!

Wait you throw a event in the river then want tjanks for trying to clean up after yourself? ... πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

There was a paddle and a whole craft down closer to Benjamin Moore yesterday we saw incase you hadn't seen those

Awesome job! I wish someone would do this at the Oshawa creek!

It's unfortunate that entrants aren't more aware of material to use in construction and that crafts really don't need loose props or items on board that could float away. To all those cleaning up thank you!

ThAnk you for all your time putting this together and cleaning up!!! You are all awesome!!!

Great Job and Than you All for a FANTASTIC EVENT.

Thank you for the clean up!

Not everything washes down the river into the lake. Stuff gets caught in back eddies, caught on branches, grasses along banks. Even doing the preliminary run last week before the race, we picked up some things.

I will buy that foam if it's available

Did you happen to find 2 bucket hats? We lost them in a treee and would like that back lol

Thank you !!!

THANK YOU πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’•β˜€οΈ

The results have been adjusted following the disqualification of two Crazy Craft after the race. 13 - SS Port Hope Panthers for 'drunken behavior' and 48 - Hope She Floats for 'throwing of beer cans' (which were collected by another craft). A number of craft were dealt with on the river and were not allowed to continue. Littering and drunken behavior will not be tolerated by the event. ... See MoreSee Less

I am so glad that the drinking was dealt with there is no reason for that ALCOHOL AND WATER DO NOT MIX! at any time of year let alone when the water is cold and there are rapids involved. I also believe that helmets should be mandatory for the race i know mine has saved my head on this river at least 3 times.

That's why they call it float your liver down the river lol

Good Job in dealing with the irresponsible individuals.

Some of the people watching were throwing water balloons at us 😞

I knew they were drinking! It was obvious! It’s ok to have fun but be responsible!!!

Glad to see sanction of drunken behaviour!

There was some Live Quick action by some of the Responders helping people out of the River after their crazy craft capsized. Great Job by ALL RESPONDERS that were there.

They did a great job!

Wow what a day!!!!On a perfect Spring Day, we witnessed the Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny10km race along the Ganaraska River to commemorate the 1980 flood that devastated Port Hope’s downtown area and celebrate the community spirit and resilience that rose in the face of this natural disaster.

Centered around the finish area at Barrett Street Bridge and Cavan Street, Fannyville, the event village offered family-focused entertainment and activities, as well as the chance to watch the participants float over the last rapids section of the course with live commentary. Spectators and visitors enjoyed food from one of the many vendors along the banks, or take a short walk to shopping, restaurants or bars.
I am sorry If you missed it... But you will have another chance to share this excitement next Spring! Check the Float Your Fanny Website or our snapd updates, for next year's event.
